No, they probably won't cancel your account for buying gold. I have bought around 1000 gold for my characters over the past year or so. However, if you power level your character, you run the higher risk of getting caught and getting banned. I wouldn't recommend doing that. But buying gold is fine.

If you value your account, and all the characters on it, I would refrain from participating in this activity. Purchasing/selling ingame gold or items for real world money is a violation of Blizzards TOS. They have routines setup to flag certain activities that occur in the game and investigate them. And as an extra added bonus, the sites that advertise this kind of thing are generally loaded with keyloggers. Your account will indeed be banned.

They can if Blizzard finds out. You are breaching the Terms of Service agreement that you agreed to when you started playing and after big patches are downloaded. WoW has really been cracking down on people buying gold and autoing their toons.
